Getting started
How long does setup take?
Your trade, your number, where you work and how it should talk, then a read-over of the answers we’ve pre-filled for your trade. Picking your trade seeds the lot — certifications, call-out framing, out-of-hours — so you’re never staring at a blank page. Your number is live before you close the laptop.
What do I need to sign up?
Just your business details — your trade, your working hours, the postcodes you cover, and how you want callers spoken to. You don't need to write anything from scratch: the per-trade starter library fills in the common answers and you edit from there.
Do I need any new hardware?
No. NOWWORX is a web app that installs to your phone's home screen like an app — there's nothing to buy and no app store to deal with. It works on the phone you already have, and it works on a laptop or tablet too. You read and reply to messages inside NOWWORX.
Your phone number
Will I get a new number, or keep my old one?
You get a new dedicated UK number, live straight away. Your own mobile stays exactly as it is.
Being straight with you: moving your existing number onto NOWWORX isn’t switched on yet. It’s a path we intend to open, but we’d rather say so than take your money on a promise. In the meantime you can forward calls in from your old number using your network’s dial codes, which works on any UK number.
Can NOWWORX capture texts sent to my existing personal mobile?
No — and any service that promises this isn't being straight with you. UK mobile carriers do not offer SMS forwarding, so a text sent to your personal mobile physically cannot be mirrored into another system. That's why NOWWORX uses a dedicated number: it's a virtual number with no SIM card, so it won't show up in your phone's Messages app. You read and reply to every text inside the NOWWORX app instead. There is no workaround on the UK network — we'd rather tell you the truth than sell you a path that doesn't exist.
Does call forwarding work on my normal number?
Yes. Voice forwarding works on every UK number using your network's standard dial codes — it's completely separate from how texts are handled. So you can keep using your normal mobile for calls and have unanswered or after-hours calls flow into NOWWORX, where they're turned into transcribed messages you can act on.
How the AI works
Does it pretend to be me?
No. It speaks as your business — "Mike's Plumbing here" — never in the first person as you, and it never claims to be a person.
If a customer asks straight out whether they’re talking to a human, it tells them the business uses automated messaging and offers to have you follow up yourself. The first message of every conversation also carries a line saying replies may be automated and how to stop them.
What does it ask customers?
Five things: name, email, the address, what the job is and how urgent it is. Once it has them it tags the lead Ready for you. Never more than two questions in a message, and if a customer goes quiet it hands the job to you rather than nagging.
Will it quote prices or book jobs?
No. NOWWORX never quotes a price unless you explicitly switch that on for your account, and it never confirms a date or availability — it always defers timing to you ("Mike will confirm a time"). It gathers the details and lines the job up; you stay in control of pricing and the diary.
What about emergencies?
Every message is scored routine, urgent or emergency. Routine sends a notification; urgent also texts your own mobile if you’ve enabled that; an emergency notifies, texts and rings you. On gas or electrical hazard wording the reply to the customer also carries the National Gas Emergency line, 0800 111 999.
What if a customer texts STOP?
If someone replies STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, END, QUIT, CANCEL, REMOVE, OPT OUT, OPTOUT or REVOKE, everything to that number stops — auto-replies, follow-ups, review requests, invoices and payment reminders too.
The conversation history is kept, but the app will not text that number again, so anything outstanding is a phone call or an email. Messaging only resumes if the customer gets in touch again.
Plans & billing
What do the plans cost?
Starter £99/month (1 person), Pro £249/month (up to 5), Premium £399/month (up to 10). NOWWORX isn’t VAT-registered, so those are the totals. Every plan gets every feature — the only difference is how many of you are logged in, plus a website we design and host on Premium. Backed by a 30-day money-back guarantee on your first payment.
Can I cancel?
Yes — cancel yourself from the app, no minimum term and no exit fee. It runs to the end of the month you’ve paid for. See our
Terms for the detail.
Is my data safe and GDPR compliant?
Yes. Every business's data — contacts, messages, jobs, quotes and invoices — is strictly isolated from every other business's, so nothing is ever mixed across accounts. NOWWORX is built UK-first and GDPR compliant. Full detail is in our
Privacy Policy.
